The Nallur Kandaswamy Temple, located in the heart of Jaffna city, is a prominent Hindu temple built in the 15th century. After breakfast you will leave for Wellawaya, en-route visit Buduruvagala. The Buduruvagala Statues feature a 51-foot-tall central Buddha in the Abhaya Mudra, surrounded by six Bodhisattva figures. To the Buddha's left are Avalokitesvara, Sudanakumara, and Tara, while on the right are Maitreya, Vajrapani or Vajrasattva, and Padmapani or Manipadma. These figures, carved in high relief and once covered in stucco, date back to the 8th century AD. Among them is the Female Tara, a notable figure representing compassion. The site exemplifies the spiritual and artistic heritage of ancient Sri Lanka.
